The Problem: A relatively new app at the time, The Nudge needed to establish its presence as the hero to the villainy of the day-to-day routine.
Putting on the thinking cap: We’re confined to a MAX 25 places that we cycle through at any given time in our lives, and often the days we remember the most are the ones we spend outside “the 25”.
How creativity can solve this: We will prompt people to acknowledge the fact that they’re living in a never-ending cycle and proceed to present The Nudge as the key to unlocking a better day than the day-to-day.
What Exactly is The Nudge?
The Nudge is (now “was” as of 2026) an app that plans city trips for you, so you don’t have to. When you click into one of their plans, all you have to do is follow the instructions they provide and have fun.
They currently provide 8 locations: Austin, Chicago, Dallas, DC, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, and Seattle. The activities are typically not centered around common tourist attractions, but rather seek out hidden gems and local favorites that you may miss in a Google search or Yelp listing.
For $5 a month, The Nudge Premium also offers exclusive plans, lifestyle advice, and much more.
OOH (Subway)
Side by side subway graphics will show someone being stuck with the same couple places, and will relay the notion that we understand where they are in life while explaining what The Nudge is and presenting it as the solution.
OLV/OTT
Using a series of match cuts showing scenes in all black & white with somber music, we’ll show what life is like “pre-nudge” which will be even more emphasized by the lifeless expression on our character’s face.
After finding The Nudge, a new series of match cuts come into play, with vibrant colors in the scenes, upbeat music, and our character’s mood having made a 180.
